Oh the S Family. We met this family in childbirth classes when we were both pregnant with our first children, and they ended up being born less than 2 weeks apart. And so, our friendship was meant to be! This session is from a few years ago, but I love it too much not to share it!
I was honored to be invited into their home to capture their story. Mom had a few things that she knew she wanted captured. These were things that you would often find happening in their house and she wanted to preserve those memories. Like many families, the shoes come off at the door and are lined up neatly. And quite often one or both kids would grab a pair of mom or dad’s shoes to walk around in. It’s hard to imagine those tiny feet will grow up to wear shoes that size some day!
Cooking together is also part of their family routine. It was so fun to capture their different personalities (like the little one sneaking bites of cheese) during the cooking process. And since cooking isn’t really my thing, maybe I can convince them to start cooking extra for us?
We had so much fun. In addition to cooking, there was fort building, snuggles and reading. Mom and big sister worked together on a sewing project while little brother supervised. And I loved when big sister pulled me aside to show me her room. It’s so fascinating to me seeing how different each kid’s room is and what things are important to them. And I love when they want to incorporate their room into the session!
Thank you S family for a wonderful afternoon and for trusting me to capture your memories!
